Fund Industry Intelligence names George Gatch Fund Leader of the Year
Fund Industry Intelligence (FII) named George Gatch, J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Global Head of Retail, Fund Leader of the Year at the 19th Annual Mutual Fund Awards held in New York on April 5.
In an article about the awards, FII credited Gatch with helping J.P. Morgan gain additional assets under his leadership because of his commitment to product innovation, distribution and marketing. The article, published April 6, notes that under his leadership, the firm made the leap to seventh in long-term active U.S. mutual fund assets under management in 2011, up from 13th the previous year, according to Strategic Insight. (The seventh-place ranking marks the first time that a commercial bank-owned mutual fund firm has made it into the top 10, according to Strategic Insight.)
The Annual Mutual Fund Industry Awards, which was hosted this year by FII and Fund Director Intelligence, recognizes funds, fund leaders, marketers, trustees and independent counsels who stand out for their success, achievements and contributions throughout the year.
